MOREV 5-Pin AC DIP Switch CDI Box with Adjustable Rev Limiter for 50–125cc ATV & Pit Bike
Take control of your ignition's selectable speed-limit mode with the MOREV 5-Pin AC DIP Switch CDI. Built for selected 50cc–125cc four-stroke horizontal engines using a matching 5-pin AC CDI ignition system, this module features a four-position DIP switch bank with a selectable rev limiter mode and a no preset rev-limit mode. It is designed for compatible pit bikes, dirt bikes, ATVs and go-karts where a technician or rider needs a configurable ignition rev ceiling.
Adjustable Rev Limiter and No Preset Rev-Limit Mode
This CDI uses four small DIP switches under the protected electronics side of the unit. Switches 1–3 select one of eight preset configurations according to the setting chart on the module. Switch 4 selects between the speed-limited and unlimited-speed modes; the product's printed guide indicates the upper position activates the limited mode. Follow the printed switch-position chart rather than guessing combinations.
Limited mode: Choose the applicable preset using switches 1–3 and switch 4's mode position. The CDI then applies its selected electronic ignition rev ceiling. The effective limit can vary with engine condition, ignition components and installation.
No preset rev-limit mode: Switch 4 selects the mode without the DIP-programmed speed restriction. This does not mean an engine can operate safely at unlimited speed. Mechanical limitations and any other vehicle control or safety limits still apply.
How to Set the Four DIP Switches
- Power off the engine and access the DIP switches safely.
- Refer to the switch chart printed on the CDI housing for the desired preset configuration.
- Set switches 1, 2 and 3 to the corresponding positions.
- Use switch 4 to choose limited or no preset rev-limit mode, following the printed chart.
- Confirm all positions before reconnecting or installing the CDI. Test the vehicle safely.
Unlike the MOREV digital 9-Curve CDI, this DIP-switch model selects rev-limiter settings and operating modes; it does not offer nine selectable ignition advance curves.
Engine Fitment: 5-Pin AC CDI, DY100-Style Applications
Intended for selected 50cc, 70cc, 90cc, 110cc and 125cc horizontal four-stroke engines with compatible 5-pin AC CDI wiring. Potential vehicle examples in the MOREV fitment reference include certain Coolster 3125B, 3125R and 3125XR8 applications, and selected TaoTao, SSR, X15/X18-style pit bikes, dirt bikes, ATVs and go-karts. These are conditional examples, not a guarantee of fitment for every trim or year.
Check before buying: the original CDI must be an AC-powered five-pin model with a matching connector housing, pin count, latch orientation and wiring assignments. DY100-style and CD110-style wiring are not interchangeable; a visually similar connector does not establish electrical compatibility.

5-Pin AC CDI Wiring Reference
The supplied MOREV terminal-side reference shows the connector with the lock tab at the top: position 1 = pickup/trigger signal; 2 = ignition coil output; 3 = ground; 4 = kill switch/engine stop; 5 = stator exciter coil supply. Verify each connection against the actual vehicle harness and the included product reference before installation.
Warning: For AC ignition systems only. Never power this AC CDI from a DC +12V ignition supply. Incorrect pinout or incompatible power can cause a no-start condition or electrical damage. Disconnect power before installation and consult a qualified technician if the original CDI wiring is uncertain.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many rev-limiter presets does it offer?
Switches 1–3 provide eight preset switch combinations in the limiter-selection chart. Switch 4 determines whether limited mode or the no preset rev-limit mode is used. Use the exact settings on your CDI label.
Can this replace a 4-pin DC CDI?
No. This listing is specifically for compatible 5-pin AC ignition systems. AC and DC CDIs must not be interchanged.
Does the no-limit mode guarantee higher speed?
No. It removes this CDI's selected electronic rev-limit setting; actual engine performance depends on the full motorcycle or ATV system and operating conditions.
Will it fit all Coolster, TaoTao or SSR engines?
No. Compatibility depends on the vehicle's specific engine, CDI supply type, connector and pinout, not the brand or displacement alone.

ASK ABOUT FITMENTWhat do the DIP positions change?
MOREV DIP-switch CDI settings select rev-limit modes; they do not select nine ignition timing curves. Consult the instructions supplied with your exact CDI version.
How do I verify compatibility?
Check AC/DC system type, original part information, connectors and wiring. Similar-looking plugs do not guarantee compatibility.
